This course emphasizes an intuitive understanding of the theory and practice of financial markets. Topics covered include: time value of money, diversification, risk analysis and return trade-off, market efficiency, valuation of stocks and bonds, the capital asset pricing model (CAPM), the principle of arbitrage, the arbitrage pricing theory, term structure of interest rates, derivative securities, hedging, risk management, and international financial management. This course is designed for students who would like to learn the basic concepts and tools of finance. Prerequisites
