Unformatted text preview: believe in the perpetual virginity of Mary. It would not be scandalous if Mary had other children. Mary is married to Joseph. If she had children she would not be committing adultery or breaking any of the Jewish laws of the time. She would still be seen as the Holy Mother of God abiding the Jewish law. If Mary had children before the birth of Jesus would obviously destroy the doctrine of the Virgin Birth and probably the belief of Jesus as the Son of God. If Mary did have children before the birth of Jesus, it could easily be possible that they were Josephs children from a previous marriage. Since the bible says very little about Joseph and his past, this would obviously be highly speculative....
