O’HARA ASSIGNMENT #2 5-6 pp. DUE Monday, March 15 The purpose of this assignment is to invite interpretation and argument : interpretation of a set of central texts placed in relation to one another and framed within a broader argument . In other words, you should use class readings and external research resources to construct an argument in support of a central claim. Ward Churchill, “The Ghosts of 9-11” Ward Churchill, as a public figure and the writer of “The Ghosts of 9-11,” offers a blistering critique of American culture and politics. He does so in argumentative rhetoric that is sometimes radical, sometimes off-putting, and sometimes striking in its language and appraisals. Choose a path of argumentation that engages Churchill as a figure and/or a writer and places him in context with the concepts of civil disobedience laid out in Thoreau/Gandhi/King.
