Lesson Plans – Angela Lehmann – June 3     rd    , 2010     Period 1 – Grade 9 Instrumental Music 1. Students should spend the majority of today’s period working on their  compositions.  If they need blank manuscript paper for their rough draft, they  should go on the computer and print some off on the following website:  http://www.blanksheetmusic.net/ 2. I would say that they should spend about 30- 45 minutes working on this. This  will require them to have their instruments out to hear how their melody sounds.  If they complete the rough copy, they should have a peer edit any notation errors,  then they should play the composition for them and their peer editor should offer  some suggestions for improvement.   3. Once they have exhausted their attention span for their culminating composition,  they should practice their chromatic scale, along with the 4 scales on pg. 42 of  their books. (15 – 20 min).  They can spread out between rm. 114, 115 and the  hall, to alleviate some of the noise pollution. 4. Finally have them pack up their instruments and work on the sheet on  Intervals  (this is already copied and on top of my attendance folder on the messy desk in  room 114.)  Tell them that whatever they don’t complete in class, they will have  to complete for homework.   Period 2 – Grade 9 Academic English 1.  Give the students about 15 minutes at the beginning of the period to read silently or  write out quotes for their Novel study.  Remind them that they need to have the novel  read by Friday and that they need to bring the novel study assignment package to class
