ICS 101, Project #2 Spring 2011 Word Processing/Web Publishing - 50 Points Flyer Web Page Published - Due 6:30 pm, Thursday, February 17, 2011 Web Site Published and FTP Delivered at Starfire Server - Due by 6:30 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2011 Introduction: The purpose of this project is to provide you with the experience of using MS Word 2007 (or Word 2003) to generate Web pages and working with your own Web site. You can make this project quite exciting and fun. You control your own destiny! You have the power! The power is yours! This project can be summarized in the following steps with details given in each of the Activities: Activities I 1. Create a one page flyer about the Information Technology Third Year Certificate or the A.S. Degree in Information Technology. 2. Publish the flyer as an HTML document (MyFlyer.html). 3. Upload the HTML document and its associated folder (MyFlyer_files) to your UH Web site. 4. Instructor reviews your flyer and provides comments. 5. Incorporate any deficiencies noted by the instructor prior to the next step. Activities II-VII 6. Solicit comments from other people (except the instructor and other ICS 101 students) about the Flyer at your UH Web site viewed through Internet Explorer. 7. Incorporate received comments into a second HTML document (Comments.html). 8. Generate a third HTML document (LatestFlyer.html) which is your flyer plus changes to the flyer based on the comments received. 9. Generate a fourth HTML document (ICS101home.html) that will have hyperlinks to the first three HTML documents (MyFlyer.html, Comments.html, and LatestFlyer.html). This document will also have an email hyperlink. 10. Upload all four HTML documents and their associated folders to your UH Web site. 11. Copy all four HTML documents and their associated folders into your delivery folder (P2LFSSC). 12. Upload the delivery folder (P2LFSSC) to the Starfire FTP Server. You will make appropriate substitutions for letters LFSSC in Steps 11 and 12. Life Saving Notes & Reminders: 1. This project has two due dates. First due date: 6:30 pm, Thursday, February 17, 2011 First HTML document (Flyer.html) and its associated folder are uploaded to your UH Web Site. Second due date 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 All four HTML documents and associated folders are uploaded to your UH Web Site. In addition, the FTP delivery folder P2LFSSC containing all four HTML documents and their associated folders are uploaded to the StarFIRE FTP Server. LFSSC is replaced according to the instructions given in the Preliminary Setup Activity.

The HTML documents and their associated folders should be directly inside this folder. Based on Preliminary Setup Activity, this folder should be named P2LFSSC with appropriate substitutions for letters LF and SSC. b.
