San Miguel 1 Camille San Miguel Professor Dorland/ Miss Susan Kelly HONR 100 12 October 12, 2010 Journal Entry Number Six Last fall, when I began applying to colleges, my mom urged me to apply to the Montgomery Scholars Program at Montgomery College, because the program included a full scholarship and she knew that she and my Dad could not afford to pay a large tuition at a different school. However, I was offered the Banneker/Key Scholarship by the University of Maryland, so my parents allowed me to enroll here. Now that I have been on campus for a little over a month, I could never imagine myself living at home and attending community college. The experience just would not be the same. I have become closer than ever before with my best friends and have made so many new friends as well. I am learning more about myself as an individual and am gaining a better understanding of the responsibility that comes with not living under my parents’ restrictions. However, I am currently struggling with the ineffectiveness of my study habits. As I
