Chemistry is the study of all substances and the changes that they can undergo. Chemistry has been called the central science because it overlaps so many sciences. The scientific method is a way of answering questions about the world we live in. Observation, Hypothesis, Experiment, Record Data, Conclusion Natural law describes how nature behaves but does not explain why nature behaves in the way described Theory explains why nature behaves in the way described by the natural law also predicts further experiment. Variable is the factor being tested. Control stays the same. The international system of measurement is the metric system. SI units are : kilogram for mass kg, meter for length m, second for time s, mole for count/quantity mol, Kelvin for temperature K, ampere for electric current A, candela for luminous intensity cd. Combinations of si units are Derived units are : square meter for area, cubic meter for volume, Newton for force, pascal for pressure, joule for energy, watt for power, volt for voltage, hertz for frequency, coulomb for electric
