Council Meeting at Jerusalem – Took place around 50 CE. Big issue = circumcision and Gentile differences high Christology – truly God and truly human. She asked why Jesus would want to drink after a Samarian, etc, and Jesus replied talking about the gift of living water (Jesus) apocryphal; “those having been hidden away” – Considered to be useful but not divinely inspired by the Church. (Gospel of Thomas, etc.) orthodoxy; (having the right opinion) – meaning adhering to the accepted or traditional and established faith heresy ; - proposing some kind of change to an established system of belief that conflicts with what already exists. Nag Hammadi ; - city in Egypt where 13 leather-bound scrolls were found with Gnostic writings on them. Gospel of Judas ; - supposedly a conversation between Judas Iscariot and Jesus. Supposedly written by Gnostic authors. In it Judas was seen to have been carrying out
