Some might say the crime of the 21st century will be white collar. If that is true, what will be the major types of cybercrime? How can we safeguard against it? The crime of the 21 st century I believe is going to be crimes involving computers and personal information, and they will include hacking, identity theft, viruses, and malicious malware. These crimes are already becoming an issue with higher profile companies and the government agencies. The Pentagon and NATO just experienced this with the Wiki leak Scandal. More and more people are victims of these incidents, and these crimes are getting more complex as time goes on. The only way to completely safeguard one from these crimes is to not use a computer or bank accounts or credit cards, which is almost impossible to do in this day and age. Therefore, the best way to protect you, your information, and your property is to use a high- end anti-virus program, do not open any email/ IM’s, or even text messages from unknown senders, and don’t download any links that are sent to you or are from an unsure source. These are all common knowledge to some people, and with all of the recent incidents in the news
