Living Together: Water and the West The Journey of Water Round Robin Name ___________________ Learning Target: I can explain where our water comes from and where our water goes Overview: During this activity you will be visiting different stations to participate in four different mini- lab/mini investigations. During this time you will be working on the learning target, “ I can explain where our water comes from and where our water goes” . Each activity will help you build your background knowledge on this target. This will be critical understanding for you as you build your position on the proposed Glade Reservoir Project for forum on February 5 th . Before beginning our activities, take some time to rank where you are in your present understanding of Learning Target #1. Remember, it is your goal to be at a “3” by the end of all of this Learning Set. LEARNING TARGET: LT#1: I can explain where our water comes from and where our water goes 1 2 3 4 1a: I can diagram and describe the water cycle 1b: I can identify the watershed I live in and how it flows into other watersheds. 1d: I can predict the flow of water in a watershed. Directions: 1) You will be working in table groups for this activity and traveling together to each station. Please note the direction that groups are traveling in the room. 2) At each station you will have approximately 15 minutes to complete the given task. DO NOT WASTE TIME. You will have a small period of time at the end of the activity to catch up on any station you did not completely finish. 3) All of your thinking should be recorded in this investigation packet. However, If you run across any new vocabulary MAKE SURE YOU RECORD THIS DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES IN YOUR JOURNAL. 4) If you get stuck re-read the task. If you are still stuck, ask a peer or use your resources (notes, etc). If you continue to be stuck raise your hand and wait patiently (you may even want to go on to another part of the task). 5) Each section’s point value is clearly listed. This entire packet will be scored out of 75
