January 12 th , 2009 Dear Parents/ Guardians, For the last month your student has been studying water quantity and water quality in our  MYP Science unit, Water and the West: Living Together. During this time we have been  exploring watersheds, water chemistry, and aquatic ecosystems through the lens of the  proposed Glade Reservoir.  Glade reservoir is a “Horsetooth Sized” new water project that is being proposed  for  being built just north of Fort Collins. Currently, it is being reviewed for its environmental  impact. There has been much controversy in our community around this topic over the  last year or two. Different stakeholders in the issue (farmers, environmentalists, etc) have  taken clear sides. Many of our students have had the chance to hear speakers from  representatives from both sides of this issue. As a culmination of students learning,
