IB COURSE DESCRIPTION Course Code : I50 Credits : 10 Designated Grade Levels : 9-12 Course Duration : 1 year (2010-2011) Prerequisite : French II/ French II Pre. IB Fee: National French Exam ( $4) 1-C OURSE D ESCRIPTION French III Pre- IB is intended for students who have completed French I and II and wish to prepare the International Baccalaureate Exam. The course continues the development of communication skills begun in the first two years and reviews essential beginning grammar before introducing intermediate structures and vocabulary. In addition, French III Pre- IB will enhance students’ knowledge and appreciation of the French-speaking culture. Classes will be conducted in French. 2-C OURSE O BJECTIVES In French III Pre- IB, objectives are to use and understand intermediate-level vocabulary and discuss personal and simple social topics with more grammatical accuracy and speed. Students will also learn to read with increased understanding texts written for French native speakers and understand better the linguistic and cultural heritage of French speakers around the world. 3-P RIMARY C OURSE M ATERIALS Discovering French: Rouge , by Jean-Paul and Rebecca M.
