* Experience 1:  Nature of experience, where it occurred, approximate starting and ending dates, total time  spent or average hours per week (maximum 1000 characters, including spaces): Throughout high school I was heavily involved in Teens Against Tobacco Use. Our most well received community  activity involved going to Elementary schools and discussing the harmful side effects of smoking. It was a challenging  experience to not isolate children who had role models who smoked, but rather encourage the children and empower  them to speak up when worried about their loved ones. It was also a learning experience for me because managing a  class room of children with two other high school students is an extremely difficult task. Joining the club my  sophomore year of high school helped shape how I interacted with others during the rest of my high school  experience. It taught me new means of communication and explanation. I became the treasurer of TATU my junior  and senior year. I acquired many new leadership skills along with a new found self confidence. Since I spent at least 5  hours a week promoting our cause, it helped shape who I am today.   * Describe your roles and responsibilities. If they changed over time, describe how they changed (maximum  1000 characters, including spaces): When I first joined my sophomore year of high school, I was very motivated by the cause and hoped to make  a difference. It was also a great way to meet good people in a progressive setting. My role was simply to take  part in our elementary visits while also participating in information booths and fundraisers. Once I got into a
