Each mini-fleet was allocated a member of staff from the fleet operations team, being responsible for planning and controlling the utilisation of their division of the fleet to an optimum level. This is a vital role because the vehicles and their use are the primary concern of the day-to-day operation of Fleet Division. To ensure that all clients were treated equitably, but allowing for new and important business to be given special attention, it was necessary to establish clearly a set of operational procedures for charting vehicles. The following procedures were agreed and implemented. (The groupings referred to are of particular vehicle types for particular clients.)
