OUTLINE FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS The following notes are intended to help you write an effective proposal regarding your choice of topic for the feasibility study. At minimum, you must include information in each of the areas listed below. However, as you work on the proposal, you may need to include additional information in some or all of the sections, depending upon the nature of your project. You must write each of the sections clearly and persuasively. Further, each primary section should flow smoothly to the next one. The proposal is to take the form of a memo addressed to me. Your goal is to persuade me that your topic choice is viable and worthwhile, and that you have substantial resources to support your solutions and final recommendation. (INTRODUCTION) Explain why you are writing to me by revealing what you want (in this case, you want approval of a topic for your feasibility study). Throughout your proposal, persuade me as if you and I had not previously discussed your project (if you indeed discuss possibilities with me prior to the proposal’s due date). Rely on your proposal, not on our conversations, to introduce your project and to make your plans clear.
