This course should provide you enough information and experience to be able to answer the following questions: 1. What are some of the fundamental concepts of individual behavior and how do they relate to the organization as a whole? 2. What factors influence group behavior and how can a group maximize its effectiveness? 3. How are effective organizations created and maintained? To achieve this general mission, students should obtain the following skills: 1. The student will know how to help an organization become more effective by achieving its mission and goals 2. The student will be able to understand team dynamics and how to effectively work in a team 3. The student will be able to know how to manage change effectively 4. The ability to understand organizational dynamics and to apply appropriate theories and concepts to diagnose organizational problems and generate effective solutions. By the end of the semester you should have a good working knowledge of concepts and applications related to motivation, group/team dynamics, leadership, and organizational culture, among others. 5. Most importantly, we should learn to learn from each other. The most important knowledge we gain is often from our colleagues, and not always from the professor. 1
