PSYCHOLOGY 2010-2011 Mrs. Navarre lisa.navarre@bvsd.org Office 637 Teach your child to live rather than to avoid death…, life consists less in the length of days, than in the sense of living -Jean Jacques Rousseau Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards. –Soren Kierkegaard I dreamed I had a child, and even in the dream I saw that it was an idiot, and I ran away, but it always crept back into my lap again, clutched at my clothes. Until I thought, if I could kiss it, whatever in it was my own, perhaps I could sleep. And I bent over the broken face, and it was horrible…but I kissed it. I think that one must finally take one’s life into one’s arms. -Arthur Miller This is a survey course that covers five major topics in psychology. This class is a choice, not a requirement. Please come with a cheerful demeanor, participate fully, and understand that you will be asked to complete class work and homework throughout the course. If “senioritis” strikes you three minutes into this semester, this may not be a good place for you. That being said, the content is interesting and diverse.
