2 FINAL EXAM 1. Creating a trail that is accessible to those with mobility impairments could be a daunting task. When considering the multiple support systems, such as human, information, financial, facility/equipment, and transportation resources, this job will be much easier. First, I would need to hire a project manager who is familiar with hiking trails and also familiar with constructing hiking trails that are accessible. This will be the person who is in charge of the build itself, they will be in charge of hiring the correct companies to make this hiking trail the best it can be. Other human resources that I could rely on are those who work closely with the community, in particular, those who have mobility impairments. Other people that could be useful to this planning could be those who work with the City of Winnipeg and are knowledgeable about hiking trails. Their input could provide me with sustainable and accessible ideas that I can incorporate into the trail. Among all the people that I utilize to contribute to this build I would also like to include inclusive volunteers. These are people who have a mobility impairment and would volunteer with the project. To have these people involved would be so important, considering this hiking trail is catered to them. To see and hear thoughts and designs from their point of view would be very important when it comes to the planning process. The next support system I will use is informational resources. This resource allows me to take information that has been previously discovered about hiking trails and will guide my process; making it easier. Informational resources that I would plan on using would be from similar construction done in the city of Winnipeg. I would incorporate the knowledge and structures that worked well for previous trails into mine. Other informational resources I could use would be local hospitals and rehabilitation centres. These facilities work closely with those who have mobility impairments. With

3 FINAL EXAM their knowledge and advice, I would be able to construct a trail around the needs of their patients. Before starting the build, I would also consult with professionals and previous research that was successfully completed. This could be looking into research articles, books, and web-based information. By informing myself on previous accessible hiking trails, I will know which techniques worked and which ones did not. A very crucial aspect of building an inclusive hiking trail will be the funds needed to construct everything. A majority of the funds will come from the Manitoba government, they have millions of dollars that go directly to parks and recreation. I would also like to include a private fundraiser that allows the community to get involved so the anticipation for this trail is high. Local fundraisers will take place in community centres,
