Case Study 3 4/25/2011 Case 3: Pfizer Pfizer, Inc is a highly- regarded drug company headquartered in New York City, New York, the company primary deal in biopharmaceutical research and selling the product directly to the consumers. Pfizer is a public company, which is traded on the New York stock exchange under the ticker symbol PFE. While the company enjoys relatively robust earnings and growth, new challenges are emerging with regards to increases in health care costs, the current economic crisis, and problems with foreign partnerships. Over the course of this case study, then, we will analyze the current industry and corporate environment and propose a three-year strategic plan that will capitalize on strengths and opportunities, minimize weaknesses and threats, and adhere to the firm’s mission and vision statements. We will begin with external and internal factor evaluations and then proceed to a strategic analysis and recommendation. Key External Factors
