From the management perspective, the key is to minimize the negative impacts of tourism while maintaining and inducing, if possible, maximum positive impacts. Thus, in order to successfully manage a tourist destination and ensure its long-term competitive advantage, we should be able to identify what the negative and positive impacts are and develop appropriate measures to build the “sustainable destination”.
