Unformatted text preview: Dustin Paluch Professor Schwartz FSP 101-13 17 October 2009 Continuation of “Long Distance Call” Miss Elva still could not get those terrible words “Hello, Miss Elva. I’ll be right over” out of her head. She sat there in the dark waiting for the phone to ring again. The time was about 2:50 when the phone finally rang again. Miss Elva quickly grabbed for the phone and screamed “stop calling me” into the receiver. Nurse Phillips quickly alerted Miss Elva that it was she who was calling and not the lonesome stranger. Nurse Phillips told Miss Elva that she was just calling to check in on her because the phone had a busy signal the first few times she phoned Miss Elva. Miss Elva explained how the phone had fallen and she left it on the ground for quite some time before finally picking it up and placing it back on the base. Miss Phillips assured her that no one was calling and that she should get some rest....
