Introduction Financial statements of a company contain information about over all financial conditions of that company. It is necessary for the investors, creditors, and other user to take the economic decision about that company. So it should be such user friendly that will be easily understood by the user. It should also focus on future planning, controlling, and monitoring the financial issues. Financial analysis will help the entire decision maker to take a prudent decision. This study is concern with analysis of financial statements. Objective of the study The main objective of the study is to critically examine the historical accounting performance of a selected unit in the pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh. To achieve the main objective the following study covers the following specific objectives: 1)To examine the liquidity condition of the company 2)To examine the profitability condition of the company 3)To examine the adequacy of cash balances through financial equilibrium 4)To examine the efficiency and solvency position of the company 5)To examine the proportion of asset and liability in relation to total asset 6)To examine the proportion of income and cost component in relation to sales. Limitations of the study As financial statement analysis is a vast source of analysis due to some factors we didn’t do this as per our desire. Because, 1)To make a fulfill report we need to take interview of some personnel of company But we couldn’t do that due to time limit. 2)We had to remain confine within the information provided by the annual report 3)Due to time limitations we used only two years data through which it is not possible to get proper scenario of a company.
