Deciding which event is right for you. .. There is an oral competitive event, manual or chapter event for everybody, but finding the right  project with the right topic is your first challenge.  The process is two-fold.  You must: Familiarize yourself with the various oral events, manuals and chapter events, and Consider your own likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. Let's look at these things individually.  First, the events that goes on to ICDC in Orlando, Florida:   Individual Oral Events:   These events are comprised of an individual   student in competition.  The student is given a 100 multiple choice test to write.  After the test, the student is given a case  study situation, whereby they have 10 minutes to prepare their solution.  They then present this  solution  to  the judge.   They  will have two   cases to  present  at two   different times.   The  occupations to choose from are: ACT Accounting Applications                                              AAM Apparel and Accessories Marketing ASM Automotive Services Marketing                          BSM Business Services Marketing Series  FMS Food Marketing Series HLM Hotel and Lodging Management Series MMS Marketing Management Series                                    QSRM Quick Serve Restaurant Management RFSM Restaurant and Food Service Management RMS Retail Merchandising Series SEM Sports and Entertainment Management Management Team Decision Making Events:  These events are comprised of two students per   team , and each member is given a 100 multiple choice test to write.  After the test, each team is  given a decision making case study situation, whereby they have 30 minutes to prepare their  solution.  They then present this solution to the judge.  Heavy emphasis is placed on the decision  making presentation.  The occupations to choose from are as follows: BLMDM Business Law and Ethics Management Team Decision Making BMDM Buying and Merchandising Management Team Decision Making EMDM E-Commerce Marketing Team Decision Making
