When you write this paper it is hard to narrow it down so that you are not reading a novel on why I want to become a teacher. I would have to say that there are hundreds of factors define a teacher’s profession, but I will try to keep it brief… Intrinsic rewards would have to be a big one for me. I have since my 12 th grade teacher discovered it in me and groomed me to be her teaching assistant, been in love with the idea of being a teacher. She showed me the passion she had and nurtured mine and brought it to the surface. You must have passion in order to be an effective teacher. The next is dedication to the children, you can say you love kids and teaching them will be easy. Well, then you are lying to yourself and should stop now and pick a different profession. Children will find any way they can to break you down, you cannot let them, but they will try. Daily you will face frustration, emotional outbursts, or just plain boredom. You must remain dedicated to the cause. You are there to guide, groom, and prepare the future for these

Unformatted text preview: children. So you must be dedicated 110% everyday, you never know who you might be teaching, like the next leader of industry, or president you just never know. The ability to overcome adversity should be a top factor that you need in order to make teaching a profession. The reason I say this is you will face speed bumps, which are going to be parents, budget cuts, overcrowding, portables, Special Needs Children, etc… An effective teacher will learn how to adapt and do the very best they can with the situation presented to them. They should be able to understand that what they want and what they need are two different things, and sometimes making do with what you have will make you a better teacher in the long run. Like I said I could go on and on about what will or will not make teaching a great profession, but we are only allowed up t0 300 words. I know that I went over, but I am sure you can tell how passionate I am about this subject!...
