Measuring Job Performance: i. Individual differences 1. In ability, personality, experiences, knowledge, skills, habits a. Affect both task and contextual performance i. Experience has been found to be most strongly related to task performance ii. Conscientiousness has been found to be most strongly related to contextual performance II. Performance Management a. Definition: i. Process through which managers ensure that employees’ activities and outputs are congruent with the organization’s goals b. Performance Appraisal: i. Process through which an organization gets information on how well an employee is doing in his or her job c. Performance Feedback: i. Process of providing employees information regarding their performance effectiveness III. Purpose of Performance Management
