The Positivity and Concerns of Healthier School Lunches Most people can remember back to Elementary and Middle School, the bell would ring signaling lunch time; for an hour you had the sweet freedom from the stresses of academic life. Although most kids would not ascertain what they eat can directly affect their mental and physical performance throughout the day, lunchtime is an essential staple in our diet to provide the nutrients needed for our overall health. While these nutrients are essential, they come at a price--and with an already lack in funding for schools this can be problematic. Marginal cost is a simple economic concept to understand, put simply is the change in opportunity cost per each additional product or services provided.
