  Amazon.com Evolution 2 Amazon.com Evolution Amazon.com is one of the largest online retailers. In recent years, Amazon has shown its intention to broaden its core competency to become more a diverse online retailer by adding computing and storage services to its product base. In this paper, team D will address the strategy of Amazon. We will discuss whether the company is moving away from its core competency of being a leading online retailer. We will also describe their components and the data relationship among the data, information, and knowledge. Lastly, team D will discuss how Amazon.com uses e-business and e-commerce for B2B and B2C. Core Competency Amazon has become a household name for many products bought online today. The list of items this company offers is beyond imaginable, and to think it all started in the garage of a Bellevue, Washington home in 1994. A man by the name of Jeff Bezos is the founder and mastermind behind one of the world’s largest online retail companies. From 1994 to today this company has grown leaps and bounds and has always stuck to their core values as a company. When Jeff started his adventure into the internet sales market there weren’t many people who had created a site for customers to buy products. Jeff had a vision to sell books online to people and to create a market for it online. He was amazed that there were people buying his products all over the country. His small garage business had grown into a community of people sharing
