William Shepardson The top-level objects of the microwave are smaller components working together that do the actual work. The graphical user interface (or GUI) is a device containing components such as a L.E.D display, menus, buttons and, boxes allowing users to interact with the larger device the GUI is attached to. This will allow the user to make choices and issue commands in a simple, intuitive way.
