Delinquency Deterrence Response When you look into general deterrence its basically goes off of what makes the most people not want to do something because of the punishment. I would have to say a good one for this would be a speeding ticket. When you get caught speeding no matter where you’re at you will get a ticket if pulled over by the cops. We all know that speeding can cost us money but a majority of the population still chooses to speed, drink and drive, and many other things. You have to look at the harsher the crimes the more of a deterrent has to be put in place. There would be another good example would be when its announced that officers will be setting up checkpoints for drinking and driving so for a time being you will scare people away from driving after drinking. The next section to look into would be the specific deterrence is when we send hardcore criminals to special facilities to put the inmates under hard punishment to keep from repeat offenders. When a juvenile that gets in trouble the state that punishes them believes that
