Paragraph 1 I chose to read the essay “I See Why Others Choose to Die.” It was written by Jerry Fensterman, who was dying from cancer. Jerry expressed how he felt, even though he didn’t feel taking his life was the right choice, he felt everyone should be able to choose. After reading his story I was very moved emotionally by everything he had went through and how still wanted to live. He made me think about my mom who passed away four years ago from breast cancer and wonder if she may have been felt the same. Jerry had a very valid point that before anyone makes this type of decision they should do some research. Also he pointed out before we fight to take the right away from others to have a choice we should try to walk in their shoes. This really got me thinking. As a society we are always very quick to try to push our beliefs and religions on others. Sometimes we need to step back and make sure we are not causing more harm than good.
