Research Paper on a Leader  (200 points) Due: November 30, 2010 Select a leader to study in one of three categories: 1) Corporate Leader – Current or in the past decade in the U.S. 2) U.S. President 3) 4) Current World Leader – Either a Head of State or Someone with Global Influence This assignment is designed to accomplish five interrelated goals that: Approval of the subject of assignment Familiarize you with major leaders of national and international prominence Understand how these leaders can be understood from a communication  perspective Exercise your critical thinking and analysis skills as you link the leader with  concepts discussed by a major leadership theorist .   Write a 5-7 page essay, not including a bibliography that addresses how this individual’s  life, accomplishments, speeches and or writing is a reflection of some of the principles  discussed by Warren Bennis in his book On Becoming a Leader Use examples and quotations to illustrate your point. Use Warren Bennis to frame the  analysis of the leader you selected. Focus on a few concepts and use the leader you are  studying as a vehicle for further understanding these concepts.   The following are thought questions for you to consider as you consider your study of this  leader and the relevance for our course. You are not expected to answer all of these   questions.  They are provided as potential points of departure for your paper : 1.
