Unformatted text preview: Tweens and Teens Short Writing Assignment Instructions for the mini-research assignment: The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to act like a researcher. Giving you some experience at conducting research and drawing your own conclusions is one of the primary goals of the course. During the second half of the semester, each of you will complete a larger research project. This mini-research assignment is designed to give you some exposure to the research process. The first step in conducting research is to develop a research question. To start everyone off, I've developed two questions (you are free to develop your own question, but please run it by me). We have been wrestling with the larger question of how much and in what way different influences, including the media, parenting, and influences outside the home, impact adolescent development.
