John Sherrow 10/11/2010 CRT/205 Capstone CheckPoint In the future critical thinking will play a much more vital role when it comes to influencing my reading, writing, and the way I process information. When it comes to reading I will be asking myself “why did the writer come to the conclusion at hand?” Was it because he was personally influenced by the topic or was it strictly factual events, was he implying certain behavior or did it actually accrue? In my writings I will use these skills to outline my paper and make sure that my topics are valid and sound. The way that I process information will also be affected because I will stop to think about how the information was received. Was it literal, implied, or blanketed to make me go in a direction or influence me to come to a conclusion. There are many ways to evaluate and apply critical thinking when it comes to the different forms

Unformatted text preview: of receiving information. In articles you can use critical thinking to figure out how the writer got to his conclusion or his opinion on the subject. With advertising you can use it to pick up if the advertiser is being bias or misleading with the information being presented about the product. The media is always going to be a little bias rather its liberal or reserved, so knowing how the information is being delivered and why is important to making your own conclusions about the story. When having conversations your critical thinking skills play a very valid part in determining why someone is saying what their saying and how they came to that conclusion. Rather it is because they have experienced it personally or if they are just regurgitating someone elses opinions....
