Laura Wadell MGT/307 – Week Four Evaluating Performance Through Motivation and Conflict Management Discussion January 22, 2011 1 Analyze which conflict management approaches work best in the organizations, and why. The most effective approach to conflict management would be the one strategy that best fits that particular issue or situation. As mentioned before, there are different ways to approach conflict whether it is by collaborating, problem solving, avoidance, authoritative command, accommodation, or compromise. There is no one best way to deal with conflict because it all depends on the situation, but if I were to pick one it would be collaboration. I would say collaboration and problem solving is the most common form used for conflict management because it “seeks true satisfaction of everyone's concerns by working through differences, finding and solving problems so everyone gains as a result” (Schermerhorn et. al., 2008).
