INTERNAL/EXTERNAL FACTORS 2 Internal/External Factors There are many organizations that exemplify the four functions of management. Starbucks in general has become a worldwide sensation in relation to the premium coffee industry and with the factors of globalization, technology, innovation, diversity, and ethics allows Starbucks to be a leader in planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, which are known as the four functions of management. The following will explain how managers use delegation to manage different factors and the functions of globalization, technology, innovation, diversity, and ethics as it pertains to the four functions of management. Planning a Starbucks in the Forbidden City showed that millions of people walk through the city and having a coffee stand would not only be profitable, but also show global partnership between the western civilization and communist regimes. The controlling aspect of the four functions of management allows for managers to survey the situation and adjust fire if needed. In

It caused Starbuck’s vice-president of greater China to say, we would have had to use the Forbidden City as our brand and for that we cannot operate a store that on the marquee would say Forbidden City Coffee. For this it is better to shake hands and walk away (Roberts, 2007). Globalization is a tough idea for a company and planning, organizing, leading, and controlling to make improvements caused Starbucks to walk away from expansion into the Forbidden City. Technology
