Time Magazine Man of the Year 1945 This has been an interesting year with many different people that we at Time Magazine could have picked as Man of the Year for 1945. We debated whom to choose for our annual award and we have concluded to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt who passed away this April. Some might feel that it is a good idea to honor him just because he has been the President of the United States. We are not only honoring him for that but for his role as a great world leader. President Roosevelt had given many years of service to the United States from Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Governor of New York to eventually President of the United States. His years of service to his country alone are enough to bestow upon him the Man of the Year award. But what really makes him such a great leader is that he has lead the United States in one of the most turbulent time in this great country since the Civil War. President Roosevelt as a leader during the Great Depression with his policies gave all Americans hope during a time of great
