Bipolar disorder 2 Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that is a disease that needs to be treated with medications and therapy to help people handle life normal and not do want to hurt themselves. Bipolar is also very serious and can not be taken as a joke to other people or even by the person that has bipolar. Bipolar disorder is a major mental illness. Bipolar illness is also know as manic- depression or manic depression illness. Manic is one extreme of the bipolar disorder, and depression is the other sign of bipolar. Deep mood swings of bipolar may last for weeks or even months causing great disturbances in lives of those affected and it also affects the family, loved ones and friends that live or hang out with that person with bipolar. Today they have researched and suggested that bipolar disorder occurs across a spectrum of symptoms, and that many people are not correctly diagnosed. People left untreated that have bipolar the symptoms can get worse and then the suicide rate is very high with people that have bipolar or any kind of depression. When people with bipolar have an effected treatment they can live an enjoyable and productive life despite the bipolar disorder. The symptoms that most people that suffer from bipolar disorder are characterized by an alternating pattern of emotional highs like manic and lows that is depression. The signs and symptoms can very from mild to severe. There are even periods when they think that there life is not affected by bipolar. Some signs and symptoms of manic phase of bipolar disorder are poor judgment, rapid speech, racing thoughts, risky behavior, spending sprees, decreased need for sleep, drug abuse. The signs and symptoms of depressive phase of bipolar disorder are sadness, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts or behavior, sleep problems.

Bipolar disorder 3 There are different types of bipolar disorder. Bipolar 1 disorder is when you had at least one manic episode, with or without previous episodes of depression. Bipolar 11 disorders are when you had at least one episode of depression and at least one hypomanic episode. The hypomanic is similar to a manic episode but it is much less and does not last
