Learning in Regeneration skills pack final version.doc Practising setting learning objectives Try the exercise below, which will give you some practice in setting learning  objectives. For each vague statement, try to write a learning objective that fits the  SMARTER model described earlier – particularly the bits about Specific, Measurable  and Time-bound.  Before you try the exercise, here are some final thoughts on setting learning  objectives: Remember that the learning objective should state what you will learn and to  what standard, what you will be able to do with it and under what conditions A useful way of setting learning objectives is to begin with a phrase like ‘to be  able to…’ or ‘to understand how to…’ Remember to make your objective SMARTER as far as you can To remind you of how your objective should look, we have repeated the above
