Diagnosis and treatment for hiatal hernia By heather Lisowski I thought I would pick the disease called hiatal hernia because I think that this is a very serious disease and can be very painful. People that have hiatal hernia suffer from a very bad case of heartburn and some people can vomit from it. The medical equipments and procedures that are involved in diagnosing and treating the condition is going to see a doctor and the doctor will run some health tests on you to see if you have any other kind of health problems other then the hiatal hernia. When it comes to treating it if you do not have any kind of symptoms then there is no treatment and if you have mild cases of it then some lifestyle changes need to be made and maybe some medicine called nonprescription. Unformatted text preview: you have CERD ( Gastroesophageal reflux disease) I think that I have to agree with the doctor on this one because if patients dont have any kind of symptoms of the hiatal hernia then there is no need to treat them. When a patients has the symptoms they will take a health test and see what is causing the hiatal hernia and the doctor can also suggest to have surgery done to eliminate the problem. In conclusion I think that this kind of disease is very important to get treated because if it is not treated it can lead to bigger problems down the road and then it might not be able to fix the problem. If anyone has heartburn every time they eat a certain kind of food or drink something they need to see a physician right away...
