Understanding the patient intake process By Heather Lisowski The way I understand the patient intake process is that when you are a new patient you have to fill out a lot of paper work and you also have to give your insurance information when you are new. I think that when you are a new patient all you really need is to fill out the health insurance part of the form and also sign all the important forms that are required by the state and the health precession. If the doctor or nurse wants to know your medical background then they can ask you when you are in the room. The patient intake process will be very fast and they won’t have to wait very long in the waiting room to be seen by the doctor or nurse. After you have been there for a while and you got a file when you have to update your health insurance it is very simple because all they ask you if your health plan is the same and to see your card. The process is also shorter then when you are first coming in to the office as a new patient. I understand that the process for the

When you are a new patient you must have your insurance card and show proof of your health plan and also if you are on workmen’s comp you need to have the proper paper work for that. When you are new some places will do an assessment on you and see were about you are in pain and what to focus on more then something else. Also when you are doing the intake process you also discuss various elements of the patients intake process and relate your findings to the medical billing process to evaluate effective procedures and develop possible stragities for improvement and that how they can normally get a good idea on what is the major problem.
