Whereas, the ASSLU Student Government Association represents the entire student body, Whereas, the Saint Louis University For Undergraduate Socioeconomic Diversity task force, hereafter referred to as SLU/FUSED, was created as an ad hoc task force with SR 019-10 at the April 21, 2010 Senate meeting, Whereas, SLU/FUSED has accomplished the tasks of creating and distributing a survey gauging socioeconomic attitudes at Saint Louis University, and teaming up with One World Magazine to bring stories of students’ socioeconomic struggles to campus, creating a strong advisory board consisting of administrators in the Student Financial Office, Whereas, SLU/FUSED has plans to implement financial aid for students interested in joining chartered student organizations, to host guest speakers to lecture on topics related to socioeconomic diversity, and to ensure all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, are given the opportunity to attend Saint Louis University for the purpose of a scholarship weekend, Whereas, the future plans for SLU/FUSED require its existence beyond the one year term of an ad hoc task force, Whereas, SLU/FUSED has a membership of dedicated students who meet on a regular basis, Whereas, students not already involved with SLU/FUSED have the intention to join the group, Therefore, let the Association’s Bylaws be amended such that: SECTION III.
