Islam was the third of the three monotheistic religions revealed to mankind in the sixth century. Islam is defined as the monotheistic religion based on teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was revealed to him by God, or Allah (SWT) in Arabic, through the Archangel Gabriel. That is, Muhammad taught Islam’s primary belief that there can only be one indivisible, infallible, independent God, the Almighty Lord of the Universe, Heaven, and Hell. One important understanding to come to before studying the history, practices, and objectives of Islam is that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a human man. Although ProphetMuhammad (PBUH) had his own set of miracles that helped prove himself as a messenger of God and as one who experienced everything from the beginning of the world through the end of the world, Prophet Muhammad’s primary miracle was the Holy Quran. According to Islam, the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), blessed as the only human being free from error, and blessed in his life, wealth, families, and journey by Allah (SWT), would become the last Prophet and source of Guidance from Allah (SWT), to man until the end of the world. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the final prophet, was sent by God to introduce peopleto Islam in a place where nobody wanted even wanted to conquer, and a very primitive, ignorant, and arrogant people. Although Islam was revealed to the Arabs (because if not, then the Arabs would not have believed), Islam was sent as a guidance to all mankind. Furthermore, Muslims believe that the miracle of the Quran is in the language, accessible to anyone at any time granted they are taught the language.
