Recitation March 27 1 QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF CATIONS April 3 & 10 –Qualitative Analysis part II Anions April 17-Review April 24 – Exam #2 Check WebCT for updates The six cations that will be analyzed are: Ag + , Fe 3+ , Cr 3+ , Ca 2+ , Zn 2+ and Ni 2+ Mix in a test tube 1 mL of the nitrates of these cations. That will constitute the “original solution” mentioned in the manual. You will use only a few drops of the reagents (6M HCl, 6M NH 3 , etc.). So just use the smallest beaker. Reagents that fume will have to be placed inside the hood.
