Tanisha Billups Dr. Payne Chemistry 112L Experiment 2: Vapor Pressure of Water Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to determine the molar heat of vaporization of water  by     using the relationship between temperature and vapor pressure.  Procedure: 1. Obtain a thermometer, 2 rubber bands, a hot plate, crushed ice, a 1000mL  beaker, and a 10mL graduated cylinder.  2. Prepare an ice-water bath in the beaker 3. Obtain barometric pressure reading, P atm  4. Attach the thermometer to the  10-mL graduated cylinder using the rubber bands  so that the bulb is about 1.5 cm from the opening of the cylinder 5. Do not place the rubber bands between the 1.6mL and 7.0mL marks. It will  obscure the volume readings 6. Place 300mL of crushed ice into the beaker and fill with distilled water. 7.
