COCA-COLA AMATIL LIMITED ANNUAL REPORT 2009 1 CHAIRMAN’S REVIEW CCA’s record 2009 profit result was driven by strong performances from the Australian and Indonesia & PNG Beverage businesses and earnings growth Improved pricing and product mix, successful new product launches and the continued realisation of cost savings from CCA’s major infrastructure capital investment program, “Project Zero”, also contributed to the strong performance. In addition, it is gratifying to note the growth in our cash flow in the period. Operating cash flow increased by $320.7 million to $751.3 million and was sufficient to fully fund CCA’s 2009 dividend payments and significant investing activities. In addition, it allowed CCA to reduce its net debt by $291.4 million to $1,648.0 million. As a result, CCA’s EBIT interest cover improved from 4.7 times in 2008 to 5.9 times for 2009.
