(12%) The three major components of internet are network edge, network access and network core. A router belongs to network core. 5. (10%) Any two of the following: End-to-end data transfer. Identify destination application process at destination node. Breaks messages into packets at source and reassemble packets into messages at destination. Might provide reliable communications between source and destination nodes (i.e. error correction/detection, retransmission for lost packets). Perform end-to-end flow control. 6. (14%) In virtual-circuit networks, there is a connection setup procedure, which determines a fixed path between two communicating parties. Resources can be reserved along the path. Therefore, all packets will not arrive at the destination
