ABSTRACT The aim of this experiment, ‘Flowmeters and Pressure Drop for a Flow System’ is to calibrate a flow nozzle, an orifice meter, a pitot tube and a rotameter, to estimate the change in pressure along a rough pipe with the changes in flowrates. In order to measure the pressure drops in flow nozzle an inclined manometer is used. For others U-tube manometers are used. For different distances, pressure drops on the rough pipe are measured. These procedures are repeated at different flowrates. Nozzle meter is found to be imperfect. Its coefficient is determined as 1.22. It is well-matched with theoretical correction coefficient which is between 0.6 and 0.65.[Ref.5]. Furthermore, pitot tube correction factor is determined as 0.76 which shows that this pitot tube is a bit far from ideal case. Moreover, friction factors calculated depending on rough pipe are higher than theoretical ones.
