Unformatted text preview: Barbara Brandmire Final Reflection Paper While learning diversity contributes to experiencing the course objectives in the real world through active learning, writing about your experience and reflecting on it, creates a new layer of critical thinking. I have volunteered throughout my life in a few organizations, most recently I volunteered with a program called Asist, and this is sponsored by my most recent employer. This organization volunteers weekly at local food shelves, providing meals on wheels weekly and some projects in throughout the year, such as garage clean-up, lawn raking, household chore assistance such as painting. The special projects are limited to four annually. This organization also collects donations for Food Shelves, School age children, etc. I volunteered serving food, and delivering meals on wheels. I also assisted with the fall donation drive for school supplies. By volunteering in this area, I helped to serve food to those that may not have otherwise had a hot meal or a meal at all.
