Team Play: 75 points Working in the same assigned team as you worked on the peer reviews, you will collaboratively write a 5-6 page dramatic scene(s). Because you will be working as a team for this assignment, I will narrow your options for the scene’s purpose and focus so as to make it more manageable to initially get started. Your scene’s backdrop should be a historical U.S. event (this could be political in nature, entertainment focused, environmentally influenced, etc…it simply needs to have its roots in a well-known historical event). You will then write your scene(s) as a reaction to this particular event. When writing your scene(s) please make sure you think about and address the elements of drama we have been discussing and make it distinguishable from a fiction story. Since this is a team project, you will have an opportunity to grade one another based on contribution and overall involvement. This portion of the grade is worth 10 points Team play grading rubric – 75 points (65 points for the play; 10 points from peer grading) Strong dramatic plot that isn’t over the top but rather believable and identifiable Appropriate use of conflict without being melodramatic Strong, believable characterization and dialogue Appropriate use of comedy and/or dramatic theme Inclusion of dramatic direction (such as asides, stage left, etc) Peer grading 15 points 15 points 15 points 15 points
