Alternate key  is any candidate key which is not selected to be the primary key. Candidate key  is a minimal superkey for that relation; that is, a set of attributes such that # the relation does not have two distinct tuples with the same values for these attributes # there is no proper subset of these attributes. Functional dependence  is a constraint between two sets of attributes in a relation from a database. update anomaly  is a systematic way of ensuring that a database structure is suitable for general- purpose querying and free of certain undesirable characteristics—insertion, update, and deletion anomalies—that could lead to a loss of data integrity. Answer the following: Why is normalization of a database important? it minimizes the redundancy in information, thus reducing the disk space occupied by the database itself. It also reduces the risk of an error affecting the information. Compare and contrast first normal form, second normal form and third normal form.
